Dental Implants vs. Dentures: Which Is the Better Long-Term Choice?
Missing teeth can affect more than your smile; they can impact your confidence, speech, eating habits, and long-term oral health. This guide...

Same-day CAD/CAM crowns that restore the strength and appearance of damaged teeth in a single visit.
We offer several crown materials depending on which tooth is being treated and what will perform best for your bite and lifestyle.
All-ceramic and porcelain crowns offer the most natural appearance available. They closely match the color and translucency of real tooth enamel and are the best choice for front teeth where aesthetics matter most. They are strong enough for most everyday use.
PFM crowns have a metal base for exceptional strength with a porcelain layer on the outside for a natural appearance. They have been used reliably in dentistry for decades and are a solid choice for back teeth that bear heavy chewing forces.
Zirconia is a highly durable ceramic that combines outstanding strength with a natural, tooth-like appearance. Zirconia crowns work well for both front and back teeth and are the most commonly used material in our same-day CAD/CAM crown process because they mill beautifully and perform exceptionally well long-term.

Strong & Natural
Built to last
A dental crown is a custom-made cap that fits completely over a damaged, weakened, or decayed tooth to restore its original shape, strength, and appearance. It protects whatever remains of the natural tooth and allows you to bite and chew normally. Crowns are typically recommended when a cavity is too large for a standard filling to support, when a tooth is cracked or broken, after a root canal, when a tooth is severely worn down, or when a crown is needed to cover a dental implant.
At Elevated Smiles Dentistry, we use CAD/CAM technology to design and fabricate your crown in our own Bel Air office during a single appointment. Dr. Englander prepares the tooth and takes a digital scan instead of a traditional impression. The scan is used to design your crown on-screen, and the design is sent to our in-office milling machine, which carves the crown from a solid ceramic block. The entire process takes about two hours, and you leave with your permanent crown bonded in place. No temporary crown, no second visit, no waiting for a dental lab.
Most dental crowns last 10 to 15 years, and many last significantly longer with good care. The lifespan depends on the material used, where the crown is placed in your mouth, and your oral habits. Grinding your teeth puts extra stress on crowns and can shorten their life considerably. If you grind or clench, Dr. Englander may recommend a custom nightguard to protect both your crown and your natural teeth.
A dental crown at Elevated Smiles Dentistry typically ranges from $1,000 to $1,800, depending on the material and the complexity of your case. Most dental insurance plans provide partial coverage for crowns that are medically necessary, typically around 50% after your deductible is met. Our team will review your benefits and provide a clear cost estimate before treatment begins. Flexible financing is also available if needed.
